Latex Advice

  Latex Thickness Explained

Most of the dresses and bodysuits are made with 0.4mm thickness as standard. This is for the optimum stretch and comfort. We can use 0.50mm on request if any customer prefers a stronger hold. Some lingerie items, accessories and collar parts of dresses and bodysuits, are made with 0.50 or thicker gauge. The thickness of the latex used in the item is stated on each listing page.

  How Latex Clothing Should Fit

Latex needs to stretch to look ‘right’. This is why choosing the right size is very important. When measuring, avoid squeezing the body with a tape measure hard, or breathing in, as measurements need to be honest and correct. Then a certain stretch % is deducted from the measurements so the latex will stretch the right amount.

How to Care for Latex Clothing

You will need latex care products such as water-based silicone lubricant, such as Pjur cult dressing aid, which we have in our shop. This in a dressing aid to apply inside the garments and also on your body so you can glide into them without forcing it, and you can also use to polish the outside surface of latex to achieve the high shine.

Always avoid direct sunlight, as latex can deteriorate under the sun (it will make the surface whitish and it will lose its shine).  Also latex must be stored in a cool place, and it should not be in high temperatures in the summer.

Washing

Latex clothing can be washed in clean water or with a small amount of dishwashing liquid, which is best to remove any silicone lubricant. There are also products you can add to the water in the sink that wash and polish the latex at the same time, such as Vivishine.

Once washed, dry it by dripping or drying on top of clean clothes or towels; then you can dust it with talcum powder before storing it away.
